Theme

“Loving others Through Practicing Gratitude and Both Giving and Receiving Grace”

Objective/Call to Action

The Savior was both grateful for His trials and frankly forgave, how can we be more intentionally thankful and show true forgiveness toward others?

Quote

“When our hearts are filled with the love of God, we become kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, even as God for Christ’s sake forgave us.” – Dieter F. Uchtdorf

Activity Ideas

Homebased

Gratitude Journal – Take 5 minutes every night for one week to think about things you are thankful for and write them in your gratitude journal. At the end of the week review all the items in your gratitude journal. You’ll realize just how much you have to be grateful for.

Forgive someone – Think of someone in your life who has wronged you. Set aside your “warring heart” and through the power of the atonement of Jesus Christ forgive them.

Record your experience – Take a few minutes and write down the feelings you felt when you chose to forgive this individual.

Church Supported

Forgiveness – Review and have a family / ministering brother or sister discussion about Sister Kristin M. Yee’s General Conference talk “Beauty for Ashes: The Healing Path of Forgiveness.”

As a family or with your ministering brothers/sisters sing (or listen to) hymn #1010 “Amazing Grace”. Contemplate the lyrics of this song and research its origins.

Optional: 5th Sunday Lesson (November 30th) – Gratitude and Forgiveness
